Pastor Chris trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of 12 and surrendered to God’s call to preach at the age of 14 while attending youth camp. He graduated from Bible college in 2021.

In January of 2020, Pastor Spencer and his family came to Peoples Baptist Church, where he began serving as Assistant Pastor. During the next four years, the Lord gave him the opportunity to serve in various areas of the ministry, build relationships with the church family, and learn under the guidance of his father and pastor, James Spencer. Those years of serving alongside his father were a valuable time of preparation for the responsibilities that would follow.

On April 14, 2024, following the passing of Pastor James Spencer, Peoples Baptist Church called Chris Spencer to serve as its pastor. While this transition came during a difficult season for the church family, the Lord has remained faithful. Pastor Spencer is grateful for the privilege of serving the people of Peoples Baptist Church and desires to faithfully preach the Word of God, care for the congregation, and reach others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Spencer and his wife, Lanora, were married on June 28, 2019. The Lord has blessed their family with three children: Avery, Sydney, and Henry. Together, they are thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord and the wonderful people of Peoples Baptist Church.
